July in the Serengeti, following the herds north towards the river. Three nights in the northern Serengeti with a day held in reserve, so your guide can wait for a crossing rather than chase a schedule.
Reserve a placeIn July the Great Migration moves north through the Serengeti towards the Mara River. Crossings are unpredictable by nature — some days nothing, some days several — which is why this route spends three nights near the river and keeps a day in reserve. The dry season also makes for excellent all-round game viewing.
Every small-group departure uses the same guides and vehicles as our private journeys, and never more than six travellers to a vehicle.
Camps are confirmed at booking and chosen for their position first. Order and timings can shift with the herds and the weather — that is what the reserve day is for.

West through the Rift Valley and up into the Ngorongoro highlands. An afternoon on the crater rim, with the whole caldera spread out below.
An early descent into the crater, then out across the highlands and down onto the Serengeti's southern plains, game viewing all the way to the central Serengeti.
A full day in the Seronera valley — lion, leopard and cheetah country — and a chance to meet the tail of the migration moving north.
A long drive or a short flight north (depending on the herds) to the Kogatende area of the northern Serengeti. First afternoon along the river.
A full day on the river, positioned at the crossing points your guide judges most likely. Picnic lunch in the vehicle so we never have to leave a gathering herd.
The day kept in reserve on every Wildblick route. If the crossings have been generous, a slower day exploring the quieter north; if not, another full day waiting at the river.
A final early drive, then a light-aircraft flight from Kogatende to Arusha for onward travel.
