Why September

Why September

September is peak dry season: animals gather at water, the grass is short and visibility is excellent. The migration is usually in the northern Serengeti around the Mara River, and Zanzibar is warm, dry and sunny — an ideal moment for bush and beach together.

Every small-group departure uses the same guides and vehicles as our private journeys, and never more than six travellers to a vehicle.

Highlights

What to look forward to

  • Northern Serengeti in crossing season
  • Elephants and baobabs in Tarangire
  • Stone Town at sunset
  • Spice farm visit
  • Three nights on the Zanzibar coast
  • Flights instead of long drives
